Entrepreneur vs Estate Agent
I enjoy being my own boss and running my own boutique estate agency.
I can make my own decisions. I don’t have to run to a principal to ask whether I can reduce my commission or do certain marketing.
My experience in running my own furniture business has taught me how to with work with people. It’s also given me a good understanding of marketing, sales and finance.
I enjoy the responsibility of dealing with people’s biggest assets. I love giving them honest advice and valuations.
Some of the challenges of running one’s own estate agency are:
- Your mistakes can be very costly
- The responsibility is considerable
- Overheads of running a business are constantly creeping up – especially marketing costs
- One can get overwhelmed. There is no such thing as work/life balance. This is especially true for me. I’m obsessed about property and helping people who have a property headache.
This is my purpose and passion, and overcoming the challenges is what I enjoy.
