DIY When Selling Your Home
Is your home a “fixer-upper”? It’s common to see adverts with this headline: “Fixer-upper with lots of potential and in need of some TLC.”
First of all, examine your property inside and out. Look around for all the “little things” that need fixing. Things like leaking taps, peeling paintwork, cracks in walls or a green swimming pool.
These are things that prospective buyers notice when viewing a home.
Thoughts go through their minds, such as “What else is wrong with this place?”
Potential buyers tend to strip a few zeros off the value if they believe a property needs a lot of work.
If the work is mostly cosmetic and not too expensive, you should do it yourself (DIY). Or get a handyman or builder to restore it.
